Nanowrimo Day 19

Its day nineteen, there's no sign of fatigue, no sign of a finish line yet, no sign of running out of material and ideas and no sign of any sanity either. Its all going well but I know going back to the start is going to be a bummer as the editing process is going to be really long and really tough.

Word count is now at 40,070.

I looked across and Rik was having a bit of a moment; tears were clear on his cheeks and he looked pale and shocked. This was probably the time to reach out and hug him and fight through this tidal wave of emotion together, but seriously, that wasn't my way, never has been, never will be.

I slipped a hand over the gap between us and slapped the taste out of Rik’s mouth. He stood up and thrust his chest forward, fight filling his arms, adrenaline pumping into his system, making him bigger, stronger, more resilient, full of energy and a need to direct it.

‘That’s it Rik! That’s what we need!’ I said to him as we stood nose to nose.

More tomorrow folks.
